Live on the Set: Good Times with Jimmie "JJ" Walker
The Pompano Beach Cultural Center is proud to introduce Live on the Set, an interactive event that brings the art, artists, and audiences together in a night filled with dialogue and candid conversation. Debuting this program will be a viewing of Good Times with Kid Dyn-o-mite himself, Jimmie "JJ" Walker. Good Times earned its place in television history for its realistic portrayal of an African-American family attempting to negotiate the vicissitudes of life in a high-rise tenement apartment in an urban slum. Along with The Jeffersons, Good Times was one of first television sitcoms featuring a mostly black cast to appear on television. Join us in a family friendly environment where we explore the legacy of incredible black television for Black History Month.
